In the middle of the 19th century, the Audi family acquired a house with a 17th-century soap factory beneath. The whole building was totally restored, and, in 2000, the Soap Museum opened. Walking through the impressive vaulted space, visitors learn how soaps were traditionally made with ancient tools and see hammam objects on display. The adjacent boutique sells Lebanese crafts and soaps. Today, the house on the upper level hosts different cultural events (concerts, conferences, etc.) organized by Audi Foundation.
