Built by Mostapha Kitakhda in the 17th century, El Kikhia Mosque lies on one of the main intersections in the old city. It is famous for its wide courtyard surrounded by Holy Quran teaching rooms (madrasa) and features a prayer hall topped with six carefully crafted domes. It is renowned for its old sundial, large historic columns, and blue & white marble minbar. El Kikhia Mosque underwent renovation by the Hariri Foundation for Sustainable Human Development.
