    Description

This palace was built by Ali Agha Hammoud and later acquired by Joseph Debbané as a family residence from 1800 to 1978. It is special for its Damascene decoration, evident in its red-tiled roof and in its bay window, admitting light to the courtyard below. The Debbané Foundation, created in 1999, restored the palace and established the public museum, joining the International Council of Museums and the International Committee for Historic House Museums.
