This 18th-century palace was built by Ali Agha Hammoud as a residence. It was continuously repurposed as governor residence and local headquarters, and the Aïsha Heritage School of the Makassed Islamic Association. Abandoned and deteriorated in time of war, it was later restored by the Hariri Foundation for Sustainable Human Development to serve as an Outreach and Leadership Academy in partnership with the Lebanese American University, featuring smart classrooms and leading socio-cultural programs.
