This Mosque was earlier known as Jameh El Souk (Market Mosque) due to its location in the highly commercial alleys of Old Saida. It was named after Hajj Mouhammad Battah, buried within its premises along with Sheikh Ali Al Ghazzi, a renowned noble person. Featuring a simple prayer room and special dome, it is believed that the mosque used to be a zawiya, where locals gathered for zikr, the remembrance of God.
