Khan Sacy has undergone a series of modifications and tells part of the city’s past. In its heart, it hides a much older story. This Khan is in the old city of Saida inside the City walls. It goes back to the Crusader period and then to the Mamluks. It is composed of rooms of a majestic height with three water wells, three hammams and an oven. In the courtyard of the outer palace, there is a well of water that lifts water from it with a bucket suspended on two marble pillars.
The restoration of Khan Sacy is now over. It required heavy infrastructure, plumbing, and electrical work to make the place and adjacent homes safe again.
A fundraising dinner has just been organized by the foundation headed by Nicole Sacy, a foundation whose mission is to work for the social, economic, cultural and humanitarian development of the city and its region.
